This pattern is a translation of one found in the Danish book "Fuldstændig Strikkeskole", published by Carl Allers Forlag og Tryk, Copenhagen 1877.

ABBREVIATIONS:

K= knit
K2TOG = knit 2 together
K2TOGBL = knit 2 together through the back loop
P = purl
SL = slip
YO = yarn over

Even rows are knit plain. K1, P1 in double yarn overs.

Cast on 13 stitches.

Row 1: SL1, K5, YO, K2TOGBL, K2TOG, YO, K2TOG, K1.

Row 3: SL1, K3, K2TOG, YO, K4, YO, K2.

Row 5: SL1, K2, K2TOG, YO, K2TOG, K1, YO twice, K2TOGBL, K1, YO, K2.

Row 7: SL1, K1, K2TOG, YO, K8, YO, K2.

Row 9: SL1, K2TOG, YO, K1, K2TOG, YO twice, K2TOGBL, K2TOG, YO twice, K2TOGBL, K1, YO, K2.

Row 11: SL1, K2, YO, K2TOGBL, K6, K2TOG, YO, K2TOG, K1.

Row 13: SL1, K3, YO, K2TOGBL, K2TOG, YO twice, K2TOGBL, K2TOG, YO, K2TOG, K1.
